Last week we had the privilege of participating in Microsoft’s AI Apps & Agents Tour, an event designed to showcase how organisations are embracing the next wave of AI innovation. The energy in the room was palpable - business leaders and technologists alike were focused on one question: how do we move from experimentation to enterprise-scale AI adoption?
Unlocking Frontier Firm Value
One of the highlights for us was co-presenting with our customer Virgin Media O2 (VMO2) on the topic Unlocking Frontier Firm Value.
With VMO2 striving to be a frontier firm in the UK Telco industry, it needed to push the boundaries with AI, especially in the areas of customer service and sales. Our joint session explored how VMO2’s migration to Power Platform with Robiquity has laid the foundation for the adoption of Agentic AI across the organisation. VMO2’s migration wasn’t just a technical upgrade; it was a strategic move to enable agility, scalability and innovation at enterprise level – and becoming a frontier firm.
By migrating to the Power Platform, VMO2 is now positioned to:
- Transform customer experience – Drive true hyper-personalisation with the ability to able to make recommendations and build bespoke packages based on usage. The ability to sell on value, rather than price.
- An autonomous back office - Behind the scenes, AI agents which can automate critical processes such as fraud detection and complaints summarisation and routing.
- Self-healing network - AI agents to monitor network performance, predict failures and reconfigure elements before customers even notice.
All while driving £10.5m in OpEx savings in 30 months from a £1.5m investment in the migration.
VMO2’s journey demonstrates that success with AI starts with a strong digital foundation. Without it, organisations risk building on sand.
Other Key Takeaways from the Event
1. Why Low-Code Delivers Value Quickly
Low-Code thrives because it’s iterative, you don’t need the perfect solution from day one. This approach allows businesses to start small, learn fast and scale effectively.
However, while Citizen Developers have a role, complex business transformations require experts. Asking non-experts to build enterprise-grade solutions often leads to inefficiencies and technical debt.
To achieve best practice, professional expertise is essential. The message is clear: citizen development is powerful, but excellence requires experience.
2. Leadership and Governance are Non-Negotiables
Without strong leadership and a Centre of Excellence (CoE),your transformation program will fail.
However, a worthwhile reminder was shared that we don’t govern every Excel sheet or Access database, so similarly we shouldn’t over-govern every single AI agent. Instead, organisations should assess data sensitivity and business impact, then apply the right level of governance. This pragmatic approach will keep innovation moving without compromising on compliance.
3. Enterprise-Grade AI Requires New Testing Models
Another key takeaway was Microsoft’s showcase of its new evaluation feature for Copilot testing. This tool will be critical for scaling AI solutions to enterprise standards. The tool supports the shift from the traditional 20/60/20 model (design/build/test) to the 40/20/40 model needed for the Agentic era - where testing and validation become as important as design.
This evolution reflects the reality that AI solutions require continuous monitoring and refinement to deliver consistent, reliable outcomes.
Looking Ahead
The event reinforced a clear message: Agentic AI isn’t a distant future, it’s here. Organisations that combine Power Platform, expert development and risk-based governance will unlock unprecedented value. VMO2’s journey is a testament to what’s possible when technology and strategy align.
If you’re ready to explore how your organisation can join the Agentic era, now is the time to act. The tools are here. The frameworks are proven. The opportunity is yours. Get in touch with us today.
